The Birusa Villa project was implemented in Krasnoyarsk, in the northern part of the city, renowned for its picturesque forests and clean air. The 18-acre plot (approximately 1,800 m²) is located on a northern slope, surrounded by dense pine forests. The name "Birusa" is a diminutive form of the name of a tributary of the Yenisei River, symbolizing the unique character of the location: pure, peaceful, yet majestic and filled with the power of nature.
Clients of the Project
The clients are a wonderful married couple with two grown children. Working with them was a true pleasure—each meeting was held in an incredibly warm and welcoming atmosphere, often accompanied by exquisite dinners. I always felt like more than just an invited specialist—I was an honored guest, which, to be honest, was incredibly gratifying.
It was thanks to their complete trust and sincere desire to preserve all architectural ideas that the project was realized exactly as originally envisioned. Without their support and willingness to embrace innovative solutions, achieving such a result would have been impossible.

Working with the Terrain
During the design process, special attention was given to terrain adaptation: the northern slope, limited direct sunlight, and dense pine forest required unique solutions. The architectural team implemented a pile-supported platform, elevating the building above the terrain, expanding the space in front of the entrance, and ensuring a seamless, step-free driveway. This solution allowed for maximum preservation of the natural landscape while also creating a fully sunlit southern area with a large lawn.

Structural Features
The structure consists of a monolithic reinforced concrete frame, with aerated concrete block infill and mineral wool insulation. The brick façade provides additional durability, while the wall thermal resistance (R=6) is nearly twice the local standard, ensuring high energy efficiency.
This led to significant heating savings—just one year after completion, gas consumption was reduced by almost half. The house is heated using liquefied gas, making energy efficiency a crucial factor in the design.

Another key architectural theme is the yacht metaphor, with terraces and flowing level transitions reminiscent of a ship's decks. The garage entrance mimics a yacht’s ramp, welcoming "guest vehicles" aboard. Siberian cold waves, like ocean storms, remain outside, while inside, energy-efficient solutions ensure constant warmth and comfort.
The architectural concept of this luxury country house in Krasnoyarsk is based on a striking contrast between two worlds—the harsh Siberian environment with temperatures as low as -45°C and the human desire for warmth and security. The house becomes an oasis, shielding its residents from the icy wilderness. The building’s strict geometric lines stand in opposition to nature’s organic forms, symbolizing human ingenuity.

Architectural Concept
Entrance Group
Every step along this path is a transition from the outside world into a space of comfort and architectural precision. At night, the entrance area gains a special expressiveness as the warm glow from the interior softly merges with the cool illumination of the outdoor lighting, making the entrance zone not just functional but truly impressive.
Parking Area
Made from brushed concrete with integrated lighting. The strategic placement of uplights and shadows on parked vehicles enhances the modern, high-tech aesthetic of the space.
Green Hedge
Lilac shrubs line the roadside, softening the boundary of the property and shielding the lawn from outside view.
Summer Kitchen
One of the project’s most iconic architectural features, blending minimalist aesthetics with functional outdoor living. This area seamlessly integrates nature and architecture, creating a harmonious and comfortable retreat.
Fire Pit
Located near the summer kitchen on the terrace, making evening gatherings even cozier. A bench made of natural wood sits on concrete supports, extending the visual flow of the retaining wall.

- Foyer without a traditional vestibule but featuring glass doors to maximize natural light. The foyer has a secondary exit to the backyard, enhancing accessibility.
- Stairwell positioned to minimize noise impact on the living room area. The space beneath the stairs is used for a laundry room and guest bathroom.
- Open-plan living room connected to the kitchen and summer terrace. The space features a fireplace, a lounge area, and a kitchen island. The southwest-facing side is fully glazed, while the north wall is reserved for the fireplace.
- Garage includes a private entrance area with built-in storage and seating. The garage connects to a boiler room, which also serves as a small workshop and storage space. The 10 m² boiler room accommodates gas and electric boilers, a 1,000-liter hydroaccumulator, and pumping equipment.

- Designed with a gallery-style layout, leading to a large terrace over the garage. Elevated above ground level, this terrace functions as an aerarium—a private space for relaxation with scenic views of the property.
- A sauna and shower area are located near the staircase, allowing for easy access to the terrace for cooling down and fresh air exposure.
- Along the corridor are the guest bedroom, two children's rooms, and a master suite, which includes a private walk-in closet and en-suite bathroom.
